Take Aim
Fading, I was fading slowly – you couldn't quite see me, you had to look closely. Mamma, mamma always told me; “Son you're a good kid, why run from these problems?”. Now there's a war being waged and there'll be hell to pay. When it knocks on the door I won't be able to hesitate. All the reason will not save a fool, you must open an eye to take aim. You've got the bullet, now build the gun. You can make it your own. Lately, I've been starring at the walls that surround me and the ceiling over my head. Lately, it's been keeping me up at night – seeing how time flies, I'm waking up sleep deprived. Fading, the feeling was fading slowly. Felt like I was loosing the fight. (You have the ammo and your aim is true. You have to own whats left to do.)
What It Takes
I found it; the time – or maybe it found me. I finally slowed down so it could all catch up with me. Remember death is always near and what that could mean. Take a look inside or loose the worth in what you see. Lo, and behold. One time, I thought I heard it two times; it stuck to me like some kind of proverbial question that's of my own prophecy being laid out for me. And knowing what I know is fortune enough for me.
